My Story

My name is Demetrica, and I never thought I would find myself in this place. I am a single mother of small children, and was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Every day is a battle physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but I am trusting God to see me through.

Right now, I am homeless with my children. Some nights we sleep in hotel rooms when I can afford it, and other nights in my car. My heart aches because all I want is to give my children a safe, stable home, food on the table, and the chance to go to school without worry.

Cancer has taken so much from me. I live with constant pain throughout my body, and I have limited mobility in my right arm. Treatments require me to travel often, and with my health, transportation problems, and medical bills piling up, it has been overwhelming. I can no longer work the way I used to, and the medications and financial burdens weigh heavily on me.

Still, I am holding on to my faith. I believe that with God’s help and the kindness of others, we can make it through this season. I pray daily for strength to keep being the best mother I can, even in the midst of pain and struggle.

I am humbly asking for your support. Any help big or small, will go toward food, shelter, medical needs, transportation, and caring for my children while I fight for my life. Your generosity will not only ease our burdens but also remind us that we are not alone in this battle.
